Hello there!
Erin here, Melbourne mum of 3 and proud owner of Little Dozer Co.
It has been a bit of a journey to get here; through the pandemic and home schooling, set backs and imposter syndrome (i'm still working on that one), but I started and that's the important bit - so, welcome!
A bit about me - ever since I was a little girl I have designed stuff. I still have sketchbooks from my childhood filled with ideas, and it feels like it has all lead me to this point.
The idea for Little Dozer Co came about because I have always struggled buying for my boys - especially their bedding. It always seemed to be the same old thing; either very loud with busy prints and colours, or very plain and boring (usually blue). What I was trying to find was something fun and playful, colourful, but not in your face, and when I realised I couldn't get it, the lightbulb went off.
Initially, I was trying to create something that my boys would want on their beds, so I drew inspiration from things they really love (not that boys are 'supposed' to love). But as it turns out, my daughter loves what I have created too, so in reality I have designed a collection for all kids.
When I decided to give this idea a go, it was really important to me to make sure that whatever I produced was made in an ethical and environmentally friendly way. That was how I discovered GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). GOTS is the leading worldwide standard for organic fibres, and takes into account the entire production chain from farm to factory, as well as ethical work practices and social responsibilities. At Little Dozer Co, we want to do our bit for mamma earth however we can, so our children can be proud of our contribution to this big, beautiful world.
I am full to bursting with new ideas, and I am planning to expand the range into other sizes, other types of bedding and textiles, as well as other kids products, so if you want to follow along you can find us at littledozerco on Facebook and Instagram.
Dipping my toe is scary, but I hope people like what I have come up with so far, and that I get to keep doing this forever, because I truly love it.
Erin
